A Heavenly Wrap Up
& Legion's Welcome
Bill DaGiau

To everyone who came out and supported our 10th Anniversary Heavenly Ball Celebration, your generosity has been humbling! Once again the Ashworth was full. Once again the food was outstanding and the entertainment priceless. Once again our board stepped up to the challenge and made this a record setting event! As I said in my speech, thank you just never seems like enough but it is all I can offer. Thank you for allowing us, through your kindness, generosity and support to be a beacon of hope for families struggling financially through life threatening disease, illness and disability. Thank you for allowing us to be a connection neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend and business to business and thank you for being part of a caring fundraising network. As we move on with our day to day lives please remember, you have a choice, a choice to make a point or make a difference. Make a difference with Annie's Angels Memorial Fund.
St. Patrick's Day was an amazing experience as American Legion Post 8 welcomed JoAnn Clark, my wife Diane and me. We spent the evening with the Post 8 Auxiliary in Dover where we had some corned beef with all the fixin's and yes some beer, and we listened to a bagpipe salute to our armed forces, but more importantly, we were honored to receive a $500.00 contribution to Chris' Pets for Vets from the auxiliary! They also made a commitment to help us keep this necessary program moving forward!
Thank you American Legion Post 8 Auxiliary.

Trend's Annual Teddy Bear Drive for Boston Children's Hospital
Every year at this time Annie's Angels begins it's annual stuffed animal drive. As part of a long standing partnership, Trends Gift Gallery, 85 Water Street, Exeter helps by running their "You buy one; we'll donate one" campaign. It's that simple! Visit Trends between now and June 1 and buy a Teddy Bear. Keep it or donate it back, either way Trends will donate 1 bear for every one purchased. This program was started by a nine year old, Audrey, who was receiving treatment at BCH. She wished she had a teddy bear to hold to help her relax as she went through her therapies. No one imagined that in just 5 short years Audrey's program would have given away more than 5,000 new, unwrapped, stuffed animals to the children at BCH.
Thanks for your help! Get to Trends today to get your buy one donate one Teddy Bear.

What Makes Reiki Different ?
Reiki falls into the category of energy work, but is different from other forms you may be familiar with. The key is its Simplicity. Other forms of therapy may demand months or years of training for someone to learn; Reiki basics can be taught in one day
, and is very easy to learn! To those very attached to the intellect as a means of learning, and are conditioned that learning takes time, Reiki can be disconcerting. The real difference is in the attunement process, which is why Reiki falls under the energy work umbrella.
To learn Reiki is a process of empowerment, something our Western culture has little acquaintance with. After experiencing the attunement process, most nurses, doctors, massage therapists and people well-acquainted with the touch and feel of the human body, notice Immediate increases in the amount of energy, or the feeling of heat emanating from their hands, while doing treatments. These professionals receive instant feedback in the change which occurs as a result of the attunement. Others with less experience or sensitivity need time and practice doing treatments to learn to perceive the changes. When ever we learn something new, practice and awareness are needed to notice changes quicker.
Those interested in empowerment decide to learn Reiki, so they can self treat. You determine your rate of progress, by your level of commitment to yourself. Like other modalities, Reiki seeks to help each individual find balance and harmony in the Body, Mind and Spirit. It truly is a gift to your yourself- participating in a Reiki Class empowers you to move towards more joy and balance in your life.
By stimulating your body's energy, Reiki can help your own healing ability. It also supports your need for calm and relaxation. As with any new practice, once it becomes habit, you truly experience the full benefits of Reiki, including more creativity and clarity.
Your life CAN be more balanced and joyful, and Reiki is one simple, natural way to move in that direction.
Peace and Light,
Paula Hogan
