Annie's Angels Program Information

Updates and a Look Ahead
Bill DaGiau

I am happy to report that in 5684 consecutive days that Annie’s Angels has been filling requests, 6545 requests have been successfully completed! Between September 1 & 30, 2022 Annie’s Angels has received and assisted with 97 requests compared to September 2021 of 54 requests, an 80% increase from last year. Requests to date 2022 are 639 compared to 2021 at 470, a 36% increase compared to the same time frame last year. Annie's Angels has never said no to a family who meets our mission and needs our help. Please help us maintain this tradition by making a tax deductible donation. Go to anniesangels.org today.

As the request numbers climb, I can already see a trend. The cost of power bills, oil & propane bills, wood chips and cord wood are all becoming a major concern. It's only October and our neighbors struggling through disease, illness or disability are cold. Their budgets are destroyed. We need to help them but we need you to help us. Please consider a tax deductible donation. Visit anniesangels.org today.

I want to thank Norma Torti and her team for structuring a program for seniors. They create customized art projects, provide new art materials for participants, and training for caregivers to facilitate art projects with clients, family caregivers, residents, and patients. The Creative Box©2021 includes everything needed to complete unique, off-the-shelf art projects for groups and/or individuals. Major funding for this program comes from donors like you! Please make a tax deductible donation at https://www.anniesangels.org/arts-for-angels

The Secrets of Rhythmic Drumming

Do you or someone you know struggle with Parkinson's? Why not try drumming? Rhythmic drumming can make a difference in the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s Disease or Aging!

People affected with Parkinson’s experience shaking, tremors, muscle stiffness and loss of balance. As we get older, memory loss, sleep deprivation and loneliness slowly creep into our daily lives. The good news is these symptoms and more can be improved through rhythmic drumming.

The rhythmic motion of drumming improves motor skills, develops muscle tone, and stimulates brain functions. Drumming also increases dopamine and serotonin levels which helps to create an overall healthy emotional outlook. And the social aspect of drumming in a group can decrease stress levels, regulate blood pressure and improve sleep habits. Not to mention – it’s just plain fun!

Check out this FREE program online on our Drumming for Parkinson's page?  If you like it, buy a drum! Just email bill@anniesangels.org to make arrangements. If not, you can drum on anything just give it a try!
