I am happy to report that in 5807 consecutive days that Annie’s Angels has been filling requests, 6891 requests have been successfully completed! Between January 1 & 31, 2023 Annie’s Angels has received and assisted with 67 requests compared to January 2022 of 67 requests, a 0% increase from last year. Requests to date 2023 are 67 compared to 2022 at 67, a 0% increase compared to the same time frame last year. 6891 requests and we STILL have never said no to a family who meets our mission and needs our help!
I want to tell you about a selfless mom, Jeanette. She lost her son Frankie, pictured left, on September 5, 2022 after a long battle with his illness. As part of her healing, Jeanette knew she needed to find a good home for
her son's practically new wheelchair van. Our mutual friend Christine steered Jeanette to Annie's Angels. After many conversations she decided we had a good fit for this treasure, this gift of a lifetime. On January 21, Garrett, who is fighting Muscular Dystrophy, received this life changing gift.
Jeanette had a final thought as the van drove away, "Some objects are simply priceless and weirdly become family. Thank you to this Minivan for giving my son and our family the opportunity of life outside of our home with family and friends. Although we will miss it, we also wish “Mini” a lifetime of good fortune as it offers the same opportunity to other families as part of Annie’s Angels. May it bring as much joy to other families as it brought to ours. (Now there’s 2 Angels @ Work in Our Family)."
Last year The Brook helped Annie's Angels raise nearly $85,000 to support our mission! This year, we have 10 days at The Brook and there are events The Brook will be running to help us bring people into the venue and raise money. Here are some "Save The Dates" for your calendar - Angel Week @ The Brook July 10 to 19! The Brook will be presenting The Magic Mike Show, in the auditorium, Thursday July 13 at 8PM as well as Spanish Nights, Friday July 14 and Saturday July 15, on the deck! I'll have details as soon as they become available to us.
