This month I'd like to tell you about one of the 91 requests that came across my inbox. It's about a young man who we'll call Ray. Ray lives in assisted living because of his advanced Multiple Sclerosis. He has very poor eyesight and needs special lenses so he can see anything. Unfortunately, Ray has been living his life most recently, for all intents and purposes, blind. He's blind because he broke his old, worn glasses and can't afford a new pair. He's blind not because his eyes don't work at all, but because he can't afford a pair of glasses. His assisted care facility reached out to Annie's Angels to ask if there was any way that we could help. After reviewing the request, I told them there was NO WAY we would leave Ray without new glasses. After all, the special lenses cost $380 and Ray selected a $57 pair of frames, we weren't going to leave Ray blind over $437. Currently the glasses have been ordered and Ray is waiting to be able to see again!

All of this was possible because of YOU, the Angels Among Us who give generously and give often. Without YOU we are nothing.

Blazing New Trails Fore Jim
Golf Tournament

On Tuesday, July 27th, a beautiful sunny morning, Jim was riding his mountain bike on the Clyde Pond trails in Windham, an activity he did at least a few days a week before work. While on a trail he had ridden countless times before, his bike stopped abruptly, and he flew over the handlebars. Jim was wearing a helmet, but he, unfortunately, sustained a severe spinal cord injury to the c6/c7 cervical vertebrae, resulting in full paralysis from the chest down.

This life-altering event will, unfortunately, affect Jim and his family every day for the rest of their lives. With this accident comes a whole new host of unimaginable challenges personally and within his family, that are overwhelming at best. The goal is to stay in their current house and community where they have so many ties and make the home ADA accessible to minimize the impact on his children as much as possible.

Jim is a beloved member of the Windham community where he was born and raised by his parents Brian and Donna, along with his siblings Lisa and Craig. Jim still resides in Windham with his wife Alicia (his high school sweetheart) and their two young children.

Special thanks for the amazing support!

We are overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of support from the community for Jim and his family as they navigate a new world with many challenges. The financial gifts, meals, and assistance with many household duties have enabled the family to focus on Jim’s recovery.

The first year of treatment is expected to cost close to $770,000 and about $113,000 for each subsequent year. These figures do not include all the renovations required to adapt their home for Jim.

Our goal is to raise funds to help in the purchase of some of the equipment and other necessities they will need to adapt to their new lifestyle.

Thank you for your consideration,

Friends of the Harvey Family

Amanda Ranauro Charity Golf Tournament

Thank you for considering playing in the Third Annual Amanda Ranauro Charity Golf Tournament.

Last year’s tournament was a huge success with the proceeds going to benefit Autism Awareness where we raised over $27.500.00. This year, with your continued support we’d like to increase our donation to this special cause.

Our family would like to send a sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to last year’s event and to those of you contributing to this year’s event.

This is a special year for us, as the date of this tournament falls the day before Amanda’s birthday. She would have been 35 this year. As a family, we know that Amanda is proud of what this event stands for and will be there in her own way to support it. We thank you all for your continued love and support and look forward to celebrating Amanda with you on June 26th, 2023.

With Love,

The Ranauro & Gianino Family

13th Annual Cause Fore Boz
Golf Classic

It’s been 13 years since her accident and Keri Bosworth is working her butt off on the road to recovery.

Keri means so much to so many different people. As a mother of two from Newmarket, Keri had her world turned upside down in June 2010, when a swimming pool accident crushed her C3 and C4 vertebrae, leaving her paralyzed.

Knowing her strength and determination, there is no question as to why Keri continues to improve each day. But with the progress, comes the struggle of mounting medical bills, which is why we support the 13th Annual Cause Fore Boz.

When: Friday, August 4, 2023
Entry Fee $150 per player includes:
18 holes of golf with cart
Lunch
Gifts & Prizes
Breakfast & Lunch Only (non-golfers): $35
