Welcome to 2022! Annie's Angels has a BIG line up in store. WE NEED YOU to help us, help local families struggling through life threatening disease, illness and disability. Let's go!!! I am happy to report that in 5411 consecutive days that Annie’s Angels has been filling requests, 5899 requests have been successfully completed! Between December 1 & 31, 2021 Annie’s Angels has received and assisted with 109 requests compared to December 2020 of 73 requests, a 49% increase from last year. Requests to date 2021 are 693 compared to 2020 at 482, a 44% increase compared to the same time frame last year. We still have never said NO to a family who needs our help and fits our mission. All this because YOU have been so generous! Thanks to our friends at Colwen Hotels and Arete’ Chiropractic, we were able to help 35 Angel families have a wonderful Christmas! Colwen filled the wish lists of 10 families which consisted of 20 children! Arete’ Chiropractic produced a Christmas Giving Tree which raised more than $4000 in gift cards. These cards were given to the remaining 25 families, about 30 more children. Everyone who was able to attend seemed to enjoy the Hampton Christmas Parade! Our walkers gave out 3 Totes of Lindt Balls and Annie’s Angels flyers. That’s A LOT of chocolate! We enjoyed waving to everyone watching the parade, many of whom thanked us for what we’ve done in the community. I especially enjoyed it because I got to drive the van! You may remember our Got Wood Program. The work was hard, the volunteers were the same few and over time, the request for wood dwindled. All this led us to discontinue the Got Wood Program. We sold the equipment and used the funds to pay for oil and propane for families. Now, we have a new friend to Annie's Angels. His name is Mark. Mark has wood and is willing to donate it to Annie's Angels. Therefore, I am happy to announce the resurrection of Got Wood! If you are an Angel family and need wood, email me bill@anniesangels.org
. If you meet our mission and need wood, visit our Apply for Assistance Page
. This is while supplies last and mark is willing to keep us stocked. If you remember, Advisory Committee member Mike Welty has challenged me to participate in the Ice Breaker Plunge. This event is produced by United Bikers of NH and will benefit Angel Pets for Vets. It will take place January 15 on Silver Lake in Ossipee. I told him if he raised the money I would do it More details can be found below. Well, Mike had raised $1980.00 so far so...guess who is jumping in the frozen lake! What will 2022 bring? Well, the other day I received a request from a single mom who has a 6-year-old boy with special needs. This family lost their dad in 2018 and mom struggles to make ends meet. The boys’ team feels that Hippotherapy, a therapy where occupational and physical therapists use a horse as part of therapy, would be beneficial. Today I received the final piece of paperwork to proceed, making this our first Angel family of 2022! Annie’s Angels has agreed to help with co-pays for 3 months, after which this boy will be reassessed. The team will then decide if Hippotherapy should continue or move on to another course of action. Thanks to YOU, Annie’s Angels will be with this family in 2022, helping where we can. By the grace of God, Annie’s Angels will up another 44% in requests in 2022 and He will provide us all we need to keep up. Have a blessed year.

Art for Angels
Norma Torti
AWAKENING A SENSE OF SELF THROUGH CREATIVITY

Created by our great friend and supporter Norma Torti, Arts for Angels ™
is a unique program of Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund created in 2020 whose mission is to bring joy, self-expression, sense of calmness and meaningful connection to people in assisted and independent living, adult day-out, hospice, and senior centers through the process of creating art. We create customized art projects, provide new art materials, and training for caregivers to facilitate art projects with clients, family caregivers, residents, and patients. We provide tools through training to deepen caregivers’ understanding of ways to encourage creativity and meaningful connection with their clients based on their unique needs. Over 25 caregivers in six NH organizations have been trained in the pilot program over the past year. This includes nurses, liaisons, social workers, activity directors, volunteers, and chaplains. Over 140 clients, family caregivers, and patients have completed six different projects. The organizations participating in the first phase include Easter Seals Homemakers Health Services Rochester, Harmony Homes Durham, Nashua Day Health, Brookhaven Hospice in Portsmouth & Windham, Cornerstone VNA Rochester, and Sunrise Sunset Senior Center in Newmarket. Here is what a couple of organizations had to say about the Arts for Angels ™
program. “Post pandemic, this is a soothing, wonderfully interactive bit of sunshine to offer our family caregivers whose lives have been filled with challenges for so long. We are tremendously honored to be a part of it!” Life Care Director, Cornerstone VNA
“I want to meet each person at his/her level and tailor the project to each person. I don’t want anyone to miss out. Also, improving communication between the residents and me is very important.” Activity Director, Harmony Homes
The number of organizations, trained caregivers, and clients participating is expected to more than double
in 2022. We have lots of new and exciting projects planned. Additional organizations looking to participate are Brookdale Spruce Wood Durham, Langdon Place Exeter, Senior Helpers Stratham, and seven
NH Catholic Charity healthcare/rehab centers and residences in Berlin, Dover, Laconia, and Manchester. I invite you to contact Norma Torti, Program Director, info@normatortifineart.com
, to learn how your organization can participate this awesome program! https://www.anniesangels.org/arts-for-angels.
