Matt Wheeler, a veteran of Desert Storm, has been out of work because of surgery and medical issues since February 2019. Now his wife Helen is also without a job. Matt went through a surgery several weeks ago for cysts within his body that were causing pain and pressure. Surgery was successful but Matt remains on oxygen and doctors are not sure how long he’ll need it. He is on it 24/7 for now. Matt also has high blood pressure and multiple other problems to long to mention.
The Wheeler family is reaching out for our help. As the medical and home bills mount, it becomes more difficult to keep up. We are now raising funds for a new furnace before the winter sets in but the need is ongoing at this point and any help is very appreciated.

UPDATE
Matthew’s current condition is still challenging and uncertain. He uses oxygen on an as needed basis but is still out of work as is Helen, his wife. She is in the process of applying for Family Medical Leave which does not supply any income.
Matthew still has Dr.’s appointments and once he is able will under go another surgery. He has physical therapy, occupational therapy, and a visiting nurse.
Although Matthew’s prognosis is good his lungs were severely damaged and he has a very long road ahead.
