I was injured at work and was fired because I'm unable to return to the job that I once loved, I am permanently disabled and unable to return to work. My disabilities are progressively getting worse. I became homeless and I lived in my car for 3 months.
With the help of a case worker from my doctor’s office, I was able to get into a shelter.
I am trying to raise $17,500.00 dollars to get a newer used car. I own a 2002 Chevy Malibu and it has seen better days as far as rust/body work. Unfortunately, the mechanical work needed totals more than the Blue Book value of my car. I have had my car for 16 years, and at this point, it’s a money pit. Even if I fixed the mechanical issues, the body of the vehicle won't last. My mechanic told me that my car will leave me on the side of the road. To worsen the issue, the oil is mixing with my antifreeze. The Blue Book is $1,500.00 and I'm looking for a reliable and trustworthy Chevy Malibu, just a newer year. The cost is roughly $17,500 (used). Based on the research I’ve done, a used Malibu in the Seacoast area is around $17,500.
I need a reliable vehicle to get myself to the many medical appointments I have. Additionally, I need a vehicle to travel to the pharmacy and grocery store, as well as to maintain my independence. While I know that I am asking for a substantial amount of money, I don’t have many other options. I hate to ask for money, but I do not know what else to do. With a reliable vehicle, I would be able to continue providing for myself. I do not like to depend on others and have always worked for what I needed.
I am hoping to find and buy the car with your help. Thank you for your time and consideration. I am deeply appreciative.
Sincerely,
Michael Winters
