UPDATE: Rory Hutchinson – next Thursday, August 25th, I will be taking Rory and Tracy to Tufts Medical Center to begin the stem cell transplant process. One of the (among many) challenges was to secure housing for Tracy. The Ramada Inn in Boston was generous enough to secure a rate of $139/night – WAY lower than any hotel in Boston! The total negotiated cost for the stay (August 25th – September 23rd) is $4613.61 (including taxes). We’re hoping that the stay will not be any longer than that, but of course everything depends on how he tolerates the transplant, etc.

Many have asked how they can help, so I’m putting this out there… If you would like to donate money towards housing you can donate on this family page.

Thanks for all you love, support and prayers!

Rory and Tracy have a long road ahead with big decisions to make, and large medical and travel expenses. On top of it all, Rory was recently laid off from his job and no longer has medical insurance.

Rory has been very sick for a while with vomiting and diarrhea and lost over 20 pounds. On October 23, he was diagnosed with Amyloidosis, a very serious and rare disease that can damage organs. His disease seems to be confined to the gastrointestinal tract but further tests are needed. After a brief stay at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH, he will be undergoing additional tests and treatment at the Dana Farber Institute in Boston, MA. Treatment could involve chemo, stem cell transplant, or bone marrow transplant. His treatment course is still unknown at this time. Dana Farber is a renown hospital and he will be in excellent hands.

We can’t sit by and not do something to help them out during this medical emergency. Rory and Tracy are kind, generous, and loving people. Let’s shower them back with love through donations on this page. Feel free to share this page with others. Please pray for them as they face treatment and recovery.

Thank You!
